We helped a medical device startup refine the design for a disposable gauze applicator. They had constructed a proof-of-concept prototype and needed help simplifying the concept and getting it ready for production.

We presented 4 design concepts based on the vision they had for the product. We reduced the part count from 13 down to 4, dramatically reduced cost, and increased reliability with the new design.

Our client was able to demonstrate the value proposition to potential customers and partners with a small set of prototypes we made for them.

We lined up manufacturers, managed the construction of tooling, and oversaw the first production run.

We interfaced with our client’s patent attorney. We helped write the specification and created the drawings for the patent application. The product is currently patent-pending.
